Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON – Niagara District Airport is recognizing Canadian Airports Safety Week (CASW) from September 21 to 25, 2026.
Over the course of this week, staff will participate in safety training, tenants will join in on engagement opportunities, and airport users will take part in a coordinated “FOD Walk,” where staff and tenants will go out to look for any foreign objects and debris in the airfield, helping to maintain a safe and efficient operation.
Residents and community members are invited to stop by the Airport’s terminal lobby on Wednesday, September 23 between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to participate in a short safety activity, have a chance to win several prizes, and enjoy free popcorn. Prizes include:
- Familiarization flight with St. Catharines Flying Club
- Niagara Falls air tour with National Helicopters x2
- Niagara Falls air tour for 2 with iflyTOTO
- Round trip for 2 to Toronto with Aspen Air Charters
- $250 Pillar and Post gift card donated by Axis Aviation
- NAV CANADA Flight Service Station tour for 2
- Niagara District Airport tour for 2
- 2 tickets to a Niagara IceDogs game
- VIP Exclusive Fan Experience for 2 at a Niagara River Lions home game
“Safety is at the heart of everything we do at Niagara District Airport,” says Alick Feller, manager airside/groundside operations. “This week, we’re highlighting the work our team does year-round to keep the airport safe, thanking our staff and airport users for playing their part, and inviting the community to learn more about our airport’s operations.”
